Dryer Will Not Turn On

• 1). Check your house's fuse box for blown fuses or tripped circuit breakers. Replace the blown fuses and reset the circuit breaker if needed.
  
  
• 2). Ensure that the dryer is plugged in completely. Unplug the dryer and reset it firmly in the electrical wall outlet.
  
  
• 3). Close the dryer door firmly. The dryer will not start unless the door is closed.
  
  
• 4). Set the Cycle Settings knob directly on a specific setting and not in between settings.
  
  
• 5). Press the "Start" button.
  
  

Dryer is Noisy

• 1). Stop the dryer by opening the door.
  
  
• 2). Remove the clothes and check the dryer drum for loose metal objects such as coins, paper clips or buttons. Untangle any towels, sheets or jeans that may be knotted together and banging against the sides of the dryer.
  
  
• 3). Replace the clothes and resume the cycle.
  
  
• 4). Use a level to ensure that the dryer is sitting level in the laundry area and that it is balanced properly.
  
  

Dryer Will Not Heat

• 1). Turn the Control Settings knob so that it is pointing at a specific cycle setting and is not set between cycles.
  
  
• 2). Open the dryer door and clean out the lint trap.
  
  
• 3). Pull the dryer away from the wall with the door open.
  
  
• 4). Unscrew the clamps holding the dryer vent elbow and the flexible dryer vent together. Check the vent for lint build up, and remove any lint with a shop vacuum. Reconnect the dryer vent elbow and the flexible dryer vent.
  
  
• 5). Go outside to the dryer's exterior vent. Remove the vent cap and check inside the vent for lint build up or any articles of clothing. Remove any clothing and vacuum out any lint. Reconnect the vent cap. Go back inside and press the dryer's "Start" button.
  
  

Dryer Has an Odor

• 1). Stop the dryer by opening the door.
  
  
• 2). Remove the drying load and check for any item that has grease or oil on it. Also check for any items that have a rubber, foam or plastic backing or lining.
  
  
• 3). Separate out any oily items or items with a rubber or synthetic backing or lining. Dry these items separately on a clothes line.
  
  
• 4). Let the dryer cool completely. Then wipe the dryer drum with a household cleaner and sponge. Let the drum dry completely.
  
  
• 5). Replace the remainder of the load in the dryer. Push the "Start" button.
