How do I Install an Impression 42 Ceiling Fan?
- 1). Shut off power to the electrical box that will support the new Impression fan. This should be done at the main power panel.
- 2). Remove the existing light fixture and remove the existing plastic twist caps on the existing electrical splices. Pull the wires apart and set the old light fixture out of the way.
- 3). Unscrew the screws holding the existing electrical box in place and remove it. Place the new electrical box into position and secure it to the ceiling joists using the drill and screwdriver. The electrical box should be solid with limited movement when you try to move it.
- 4). Push the existing wires through the electrical box knockouts. Attach the ceiling fan support bracket to the new electrical box using the provided screws. Hang the ceiling fan onto the support bracket.
- 5). Connect the black wire of the ceiling fan to the black wire in the electrical box. Connect the white wire of the ceiling fan to the white wire in the electrical box. Connect the green wire of the ceiling fan to the green or bare ground wire in the electrical box. Place new plastic twist caps on each new splice.
- 6). Cover the electrical wire with the fan electrical splice cover and secure it in place with the enclosed screws. Turn the power back on and test the fan.
