    • 1). Fill the Mr. Coffee pitcher with water. Stop at the desired level which is indicated by the "Water" level marks on the pitcher for one, two or three quarts. Once the desired level is met, pour the water from the pitcher into the machine's reservoir.

    • 2). Put a paper filter in the steeping basket. Refer to the tea and coffee measurement chart and add the appropriate amount of tea bags or loose tea to the filter, according to taste preferences. Sprinkle any desired sweetener or flavoring over the top of the tea or tea bags.

    • 3). Take the tea-filled steeping basket and slide it so that it is over the top of the reservoir. When it is securely in place, secure the lid so that it is on top of the basket and turn the steeping dial so that it is closed.

    • 4). Add ice cubes to the pitcher up to the appropriate "Ice" level that is marked on the pitcher for the number of quarts being made. Put the pitcher lid in place. Alternately, use cold water in place of the ice by refilling the pitcher to the appropriate "Water" level markings and refrigerate to chill.

    • 5). Place the covered pitcher under the machine. The spout on the lid should slide under the machine first and the lid of the spout must be open.

    • 6). Plug the machine into an electrical outlet. Turn on the iced tea maker by depressing the push button so that the power light is illuminated.

    • 7). Wait for the machine to shut off, as this indicates the brewing cycle is complete. Turn the steeping dial so it is opened.
