Cardiology is a branch of medicine that treats conditions and disorders involving a patient's heart. Problems include heart failure, coronary heart disease and congenital heart defects. A cardiology program trains you to diagnose cardiovascular ailments by examining a patient's medical history and condition and running diagnostic examinations. Cardiology programs also offer opportunities to participate in research and learn more about specific diseases and developing new treatment options. - The cardiology fellowship training program at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center is a three-year program that offers you the knowledge, skills, judgment and abilities to treat cardiovascular diseases. Clinical training is available in heart failure, preventative cardiology, echocardiography, transplantation, general cardiology and cardiac catheterization.
