How to Clean Typewriter Keys
- 1). Attach an upholstery brush attachment to your vacuum and vacuum away the dust from the keys of the typewriter.
- 2). Fill a small container with water and add 3 to 4 drops of mild liquid soap. Agitate the water lightly with your fingertips to form bubbles.
- 3). Dip a portion of a cotton cloth into the soapy water and squeeze lightly to remove excess water. Wipe the keys, one by one, with the soapy cloth. As the cloth becomes soiled, dip an unused portion into the soapy water and continue cleaning.
- 4). Dampen a cloth under running water and wipe each key to rinse. Allow to air dry or dry with a clean lint-free cotton cloth.
