How to Adjust the E-Brake on a 1998 Camaro

    • 1). Lift up on the e-brake so that it clicks just twice.

    • 2). Position wheel chocks in front of each of the front wheels. This will keep the Camaro from slipping forward as you work on it.

    • 3). Put the jack under the rear of the car and raise it up until you can put jack stands under the car next to each rear wheel. Lower the car onto the jack stands.

    • 4). Get under the vehicle and located the cable nut. This is at the point where the brake cables meet in the middle under the car. Tighten it with a wrench. Rotate the left rear wheel forwards as you tighten the nut. Keep spinning it until it doesn't spin any more.

    • 5). Raise the hand brake a little, then release it completely.

    • 6). Spin the rear wheels forward and backwards to make sure they spin freely.

    • 7). Raise up the Camaro and remove the jack stands. Lower it to the ground and remove the wheel chocks.
