    • 1). Measure 3 inches down one of the 18-inch edges of your quilting fabric. Make a small snip with scissors at the 3-inch point. Tear the 3-inch wide strip from the rest of the fabric down the full length of the piece.

    • 2). Tie a knot in your 3-inch wide strip 2 inches from the end of the strip. Glue the 2-inch tail of fabric down to your piece of felt with hot glue. Glue the knot you tied in the strip on top of the tail you glued down to the felt.

    • 3). Twist the strip of fabric as you wind it into a tight coil around the glued-down knot. Glue the twisted fabric strip down with hot glue as you coil it. Keep coiling until the rosette is your desired size.

    • 4). Trim the excess fabric strip and tuck the cut end under the edge of the rosette using hot glue to secure it. Hot glue a 3/4-inch decorative shank button on the center of the rosette with the shank tucked down into the rosette's coils.

    • 5). Trim felt tightly against the rosette so it doesn't show around the edges of the coiled fabric. Attach the rosette to your lampshade with hot glue. Cover the felt bottom of the rosette with hot glue and press it firmly onto the lampshade. Repeat the whole process until you have as many rosettes as you want on the lampshade.
