How to Make Your Own Ringtones for Cingular Free
- 1). Go to the website Ventones (see Resources). Click the "Create Free Ringtones" link and sign up on the website by entering your email address, user name, password and Cingular cell phone number. The ringtone-making page will open. Click the "Choose File" button and upload an MP3 song from your computer. Once the song uploads, you will see a graphical timeline. To listen to the entire song, click the "Play" button. Determine which part to crop for the ringtone. Use the "Selection Tool" to trim the length of the song to the part you like. An average ringtone's length usually varies from five to 15 seconds. Once you've trimmed the music, click the "Send to Phone" button and confirm your Cingular phone number.
- 2). Use the website Myxer (see Resources). The website works similarly to Ventones. When it opens, click the "Sign up" button and provide your personal information. Then go to the ringtone-making page and click the "Choose File" button to upload a song from your computer. When it uploads, specify the ringtone length from the song by moving the sliders on the timeline. Click "Send to phone" and enter your Cingular phone number.
- 3). Use the website Liltone (see Resources). Enter your phone number in the provided field and select "Cingular" as your carrier from the drop-down list. Enter your name, user name, password and email address. Once you have an account, you can start making ringtones. On the ringtone-making page, upload a song from your computer by clicking the "Choose File" button. When the song opens, crop it and choose the part you want to use for the ringtone. Click the "Send" button.
- 4). Wait for the custom ringtone to arrive via SMS on your Cingular phone. When the SMS arrives, open it and specify a location for saving the ringtone, such as the "Sounds" or "Ringtones" folder of the phone.
