June tunes

Babys are reborn, a veteran goes solo for the first time, and a classic catalog is remastered. June is going to be a good time to be a classic rock fan (but then when is it ever a bad time?)

The new Led Zeppelin catalog

The first of the freshly remastered Led Zeppelin studio albums drops in June. The band's first three albums -- I, II, and III -- are the first reissues, with the rest of the studio album catalog to follow in the coming months. We'll hear some new material by way of alternate takes and live versions that are being released for the first time. Guitarist Jimmy Page, who produced most of Zep's albums, began working on the remastering project last year.

The Who - 'Quadrophenia Live in London'

Last year, The Who celebrated the 40th anniversary of their second rock opera, Quadrophenia with a tour, performing the album in its entirety, followed by a set list of standards from other albums. Quadrophenia Live in London captures a July 2013 performance at Wimbley Arena in London.

Chrissie Hynde - 'Stockholm'

Chrissie Hynde (minus The Pretenders) is releasing the first solo album of her nearly 40 year career. The title of the album, Stockholm is the location of the studio where it was recorded. In the album release announcement, Hynde hints at what we can expect. “I think life is serious, and you should take it seriously," she says, "but in rock 'n' roll either have a laugh or don’t come to the party. It’s the irreverence in rock that was always the turn on."

The Babys - 'I'll Have Some of That'

It has been a long wait for a new studio album from The Babys - 30 years, to be exact. Two of the artists who were founding members of the band in 1974 -- guitarist Wally Stocker and drummer Tony Brock -- are in the latest lineup. The Babys disbanded in 1981, but rose from the ashes last year. As for other original or longtime members, John Waite went on to build a successful solo career. Guitarist/keyboardist Jonathan Cain, who joined in 1979, moved on to Journey, and Bad English after the breakup
