How to Make a Snow Globe With a Picture Inside
- 1). Clean your bottle or jar and and prepare photos. Make sure the bottle is clean inside and out. After choosing your photos, trim them so they will have enough space to fit into the jar without folding over (about 1/2 inch on the top and each side). Next, use the clear tape to waterproof the pictures. Make sure to do this carefully so that the tape lies flat without bumps or bubbles. If necessary, use multiple pieces of tape, and overlap them a little to make sure water cannot enter.
- 2). Place photos into the container. If you are using a bottle with a narrow opening, roll the photo and drop it into the bottle. Try not to keep the photo rolled up for two long. Make sure to place the pictures in the container in such a way that they will be positioned back to back and facing opposite directions.
- 3). Insert the other ingredients and seal. Do not try to fill the container until the photographs have unrolled completely. When they have, fill the container about halfway with water, and fill the other half with corn syrup. Add your glitter. Use hot glue to seal the lid shut to make sure no leaks form when you shake up the globe. This step is important because snow globes will be jostled around a lot.
- 4). Add extras. You can also decorate the outside of your container with glue, glitter, or other accessories. Paint the jar with frosted paint to give it some extra winter flavor, or include sculptures or terrains. In place of corn syrup, you may also use a mixture of water and glycerin.
