You probably know that peer pressure to eat foods that are not good for you is a large part of your life, especially if you are on a diet or trying enjoy a healthy lifestyle.
If you are concerned about food that goes into your mouth, well, don't worry, look at these ways to overpower peer pressure.
Just takes a small amount of know-how to get everyone off you! Social meetings are a huge source of peer pressure, particularly with alcohol involved.
Although, do not forget that alcohol holds hundreds of empty calories in only one drink.
If you go to a party, someone might be turning up the pressure for you to have a drink, and it can be hard to refuse when they are always trying to persuade you.
Offer for everyone to go to a bar.
Doing this, you are the designated driver, now people will not wish you to drink and they will likely be buying you glasses of water and even offering to pay for your gas.
It is a win-win position for everybody.
A second time when you may sense pressured to eat is at your job when the boss buys lunch for everybody at a gathering or when you have to entertain a client.
In place of caving in to temptation, just nicely reject the food.
Do this by letting your boss know in advance.
Try ordering a meal that is healthy and divide the meal in half so you have a meal for lunch the next day as well.
Events like showers, weddings, birthdays and special events can also bring mayhem to your diet, even if you are effective at rejecting temptation on your own.
If somebody gives you a piece of dessert and they will not take no for an answer, it can be hard to get out of that situation.
Now may be the time to come up with a little white lie.
For example, say that your stomach was still a little upset from earlier in the day may persuade them that you don't want to eat right now.
Pretend to have an allergy will let everyone allow you to go through the party without a fuss regarding food.
Don't forget that while rejecting junk foods is fine, you still need to be eating healthy foods.
Say no to unhealthy food especially from those that peer pressure.
What are healthy foods? Dairy products like eggs, milk, cheeses and yogurt.
Vegetables, carrots, squash, sweet peppers, onions, yams, tomatoes, potatoes and all leafy green vegetables like brussels sprout, broccoli and lettuce.
Fruits of all kinds, especially oranges, apples, papaya, mango, bananas, grapes, blueberries, strawberries and blackberries.
Whole grains are crucial.
Cereal is excellent and oatmeal is great for lowering cholesterol.
Olive oil to cook in is far better than butter.
Keep away from items with too much sugar, salt or fats.
One day out of the week is alright to pig out, but don't forget "we are what we eat!" Eight 8 ounce glasses of water per day to flush out toxins and unnecessary fats from the body.
