How to Crochet a Raspberry Stitch

104 5
    • 1). Chain an even number of stitches.

    • 2). Single crochet the first row of stitches, or all the rows prior to the one you want to work in raspberry stitch.

    • 3). Chain one stitch and turn your work.

    • 4). Single crochet in the first stitch of the next row.

    • 5). Crochet around the front post of the second stitch. The post is the vertical bar of the stitch in the previous row. Insert your hook from front to back and around again, so that the curved part of the hook comes out on the left side of the post. Wrap your hook and pull it back around the post, to the right. This wraps the yarn behind the post. Finish the single crochet post stitch by wrapping again and pulling the yarn through both loops on your hook.

    • 6). Alternate regular single crochet stitches with front post stitches for the rest of the row.

    • 7). Turn your work and chain one stitch.

    • 8). Work one single crochet into every stitch of the previous row. When you come to the stitches worked around the post, work your single crochet through the two upper loops of the stitch, which will look like a V.
