    Millk Carton Dolphin

    • Cut the top off a quart-size milk carton. Cut a slit lengthwise along two opposite sides of the carton. Wrap the carton with blue paper. Cut slits in the paper that align with the slits in the carton. Lay the carton on its side so that the slits are on the top and bottom. Cut out an undersea environment of corals, fish and sand from colored paper and glue the pieces to the sides of the box. Cut out a picture of a dolphin and glue it to the top of a popsicle stick. Fit the end of the stick through the slots in the carton so that the dolphin is on top and the end of the stick emerges through the bottom slit. Hold the end of the stick and move it back and forth in leaping motions so that the dolphin leaps and dives into the sea.

    Paper Mache Dolphin

    • Blow up a long, narrow balloon, this will be the dolphin's body. Cover the balloon with paper mache, making the paste from equal parts of flour and water. Dip strips of newspaper into the paste and layer them onto the balloon until it is covered. Working from a photograph of a dolphin, cut a tail and fin shapes from stiff paper and attach them to the body with paper-mache strips. Form a cone-shaped nose with newspaper strips, attaching to the dolphin's head. When the paper mache is thoroughly dry, paint the dolphin gray and add eyes.

    Dolphin Mobile

    • Print pictures of dolphins from the internet or trace or draw your own pictures on paper. Cut out the dolphins and color them, or coat them with glue and sprinkle glitter on the pictures to make them sparkle. Attach a string to the top center of each dolphin. Form an "X" with two popsicle sticks and glue them together where they cross in the middle. Allow the glue to dry. Attach a string to the center of the X to hang it. Tie the dolphins onto the popsicle sticks at varying string lengths so that they swim and dive.

    Dolphin Diorama

    • Cut out the center circle from a paper plate. Set the cut-out pieces aside and tape plastic wrap over the back side of the circular rim to form a "window." On a second paper plate, color the center circle blue. Make a wave pattern if you wish. Cut out sea creatures, dolphins and corals from colored construction paper or printed pictures. Glue some of the fish and plants to the blue plate. Suspend others from threads, taping the threads along the top rim of the plate. Place the window plate upside down on top of the ocean plate and tape or staple the edges together.
