How to Fix FPS on a Mac for "WoW"
- 1). Launch World of Warcraft and click the "Options" button on the right side of the page. Click "Video" from the pop-up menu.
- 2). Click the "Resolution" option on the left side of the window.
- 3). Remove the check mark next to "Hardware Cursor." The "Hardware Cursor" option normally increases the response rate of your cursor in-game, but also reduces FPS. Disabling the option increases performance.
- 4). Click the "Effects" option on the left side of the window.
- 5). Remove the check marks next to "Specular Lighting," "Death Effect," "Full-Screen Glow Effect" and "Projected Textures." Each of these effects add special graphical elements to the game, but they also can drastically reduce FPS when playing.
- 6). Move the sliders for each of the effect options in the list to a lower setting. Although reducing the effect options decreases the graphics of the game, doing so can increase performance and decrease FPS problems. Move the slider for each effect down only slightly at first, test the game, and then continue to adjust the slider based on the game's performance. Find a balance between graphics and performance.
- 7). Click "OK." Restart the game for the changes to take effect.
