How to Clean Mildew Off of Bare Wood
- 1). Mix 3 quarts water, 1 quart bleach and ¼ cup liquid dishwasher detergent in a bucket.
- 2). Pour the bleach solution into a spray bottle.
- 3). Spray the mildew with the bleach and allow to set for 10 to 15 minutes.
- 4). Wipe away the mildew using a dampened cloth.
- 5). Repeat steps 3 and 4 until all mildew has been cleaned off of the bare wood.
- 1). Mix 8 fl oz. of sodium percarbonate and a gallon of water in a bucket. Sodium percarbonate may be found at most hardware and pool supply stores.
- 2). Pour the solution into a spray bottle.
- 3). Spray the mildew with the sodium percarbonate solution and allow to set for 10 to 15 minutes.
- 4). Wipe away the mildew using a dampened cloth. You also may use a soft bristled brush to scrub away the mildew gently.
- 5). Repeat steps 3 and 4 until all mildew has been cleaned off of the bare wood.
