How to Repair a Drive Belt for a Kenmore 60 Series Electric Dryer
- 1). Unplug the Kenmore dryer power cord.
- 2). Remove the lint screen from its compartment on the top of the dryer. Remove the two screws next to the lint compartment.
- 3). Insert the tip of the putty knife between the top and front panels. Slide the knife along the gap to unhook the two internal clips.
- 4). Lift the top panel up and rest it on the wall behind the dryer.
- 5). Remove the two screws at the top of the front panel on each side. Lift the front panel out of the way.
- 6). Move the idler pulley arm away from the belt. Slide the belt off of the belt pulleys.
- 7). Position the new drive belt around the Kenmore dryer drum. Loop the other end around the pulleys. Move the idler pulley arm toward the belt to tighten it.
- 8). Reverse the disassembly steps to put the Kenmore 60 Series dryer back together.
