How to Cut 2 X 2 Ceramic Tile

    • 1). With your tape measure and wax pencil, mark the face of the tile where it needs to be cut.

    • 2). Set your tri-square along the edge of the tile, so the flat span crosses the mark in the direction you want it to go. Run your wax pencil along the edge of the tri-square to make a line on the tile face from edge to edge.

    • 3). Lay the tile flat on a solid surface, glazed side up, with the line in front of you facing from front to back. Set the round blade-wheel on the line at the side closest to you. Lean your weight forward on the tool while pushing the blade forward across the surface. Make one scored line in the glaze.

    • 4). Pick up the cutter in one hand and the tile in the other. Rest the tile in the jaws of the cutter, with the scored line sitting right between the two prongs of the cutter.

    • 5). Squeeze the cutter with firm, steady pressure, until the tile snaps in two at the line.
