How to Write Songs With Digital Tools
- 1). Discover your creative process. Every artist is different. Understanding how you create dictates what digital tools will help you.
- 2). Use MasterWriter to create your songs (see Resources). This PC/Mac software includes Rhyming, Pop-Culture, Alliterations and American Heritage dictionaries. Songwriters can store their creations in a searchable database. MasterWriter includes a hard disk recorder for ad-lib or improvisation performances and 250 adjustable midi drum loops. Artists can use SongGuard, a song registration service, to protect their music.
- 3). Set your song to music. Easy Songwriter provides powerful music creation tools (see Resources). Artists type their lyrics into Easy Songwriter. The software includes background music with chord progressions similar to hit songs. Musicians can also import music from external sound sources like keyboards or guitars.
- 4). Record your song karaoke-style into Easy Songwriter. The software synchronizes your lyrics with the music. Other features include section repeating, multichannel support, reverb special effects and volume control.
- 5). Create your demo CD. Mail it to music publishers and record producers. Listeners can view your biography, multimedia website and song credits.
