How to Change the Fuel Filter on a 1994 Toyota Corolla
- 1). Open the hood and disconnect the negative battery cable.
- 2). Locate the fuel filter. It is in a bracket that is located on the firewall (near the brake master cylinder).
- 3). Clear away anything blocking access to the top of the filter.
- 4). Remove the threaded banjo bolt at the top of the filter, using a backup wrench to keep the filter from twisting.
- 5). Loosen the flared fitting at the bottom of the filter using a flare-nut wrench, if possible.
- 6). Remove the bracket bolts, the used filter and the filter support bracket.
- 7). Install the new fuel filter in the support bracket on the firewall using the bracket bolts.
- 8). Attach the inlet and outlet pipes to the filter, using the new crush washers that are supplied with the filter, and tighten them.
- 9). Replace anything that was moved for access to the filter and reconnect the negative battery terminal (Reference 1).
- 10
Start the car and check the filter for leaks.
