How to Use Sanded Grout for 1/8 Inch Lines
- 1). Put about an inch of water in the bucket. Add enough dry sanded grout to cover it.
- 2). Use your drill and mixing bit to blend the grout and water. Add more of each, alternately, until you've got enough to grout the tiled area. Adjust the ratio of water to grout as you mix, so it's the consistency of thick mud.
- 3). Let the grout sit in the bucket for 10 minutes. Re-stir with the mixing bit.
- 4). Scoop out the grout from the bucket with a grout float and immediately press it to the tiled surface, starting at one end (or at the top, if it's a vertical surface). Scrape the long edge of the grout float over the tiles diagonally, to force the grout into the spaces while scraping it off the surface.
- 5). Let the grout sit in the lines for 10 minutes.
- 6). Wipe the excess grout off the face of the tiles, using a damp sponge. Wipe the sponge with the wide side flat on the tile so it flattens the grout in the lines without digging it out. Let it dry for 48 hours.
