How to Connect a Projector to a Wide Screen Laptop
- 1). Turn off the power to both the laptop computer and the LCD projector to reduce the risk of electrical shock or a power surge when connecting the two devices.
- 2). Plug the appropriate end of the VGA video cable into the laptop's bright blue 15-pin VGA video port, and the other end into the LCD projector.
- 3). Power on both the laptop and LCD projector. The laptop will automatically detect the LCD projector's presence and install the necessary driver software to work the machine. Most laptops come preconfigured with driver software for the more popular projector brands. If your laptop does not already have the right drivers to run the projector, insert the CD-ROM that accompanies the projector into your laptop's CD drive; the laptop will automatically search the CD-ROM for the appropriate drivers.
- 4). Locate the "Monitor/Projector" key on your laptop; the icon looks like two monitors or televisions. Press and hold the "Function" key on your laptop, then press the "Monitor/Projector" button to begin transmission of your video signal to the LCD projector.
