Rounded Shape Bob Hairstyles
- Opting for a rounded bob instead of long locks can make you look chic and professional.hairdresser's image by Aleksandr Lobanov from Fotolia.com
The bob is an evergreen hairdo, originating in the early 1900s and revolutionizing the way women wore their hair. The early bob represented boldness, a free-spirit and departure from convention. The modern bob still has some of these connotations, plus the added benefit of simplicity for women who don't want to fall into the long-haired, feminine stereotype. - Long, sweeping bangs are all the rage as of 2010. Bangs can frame the face while softening an otherwise severe bob (and they work to balance your face if you have a larger forehead). Straight bangs also look chic with a short bob haircut, but avoid straight bangs if you have a round face, since the bangs will emphasize your face shape.
- Paris Hilton, Jessica Stroup and Katie Holmes have all sported the short bob well. Short, round bobs are best for women with delicate features, oval faces, heart-shaped faces and long or rectangular faces. They can be worn with or without bangs, and usually feature a good amount of layering in the back with chin-length, razored layers in the front.
- The more length you keep on your bob, the less rounded the look will be. However, you can usually style your hair in a rounded way if the bob is between shoulder and chin length. Melissa Rosenberg and Sharon Stone are two examples of women with this bob. Razored edges will give the bob a lighter look and make it bouncier when styled.
- Wavy bobs are flirty and fun and they resemble the original 1920s 'do. If your hair has a bit of natural wave to it, more layers will bring out more curls. Apply a curling gel or mousse and "scrunch" your hair to achieve that tousled look but don't overwork it or your hair will frizz. If you have naturally curly hair and you're planning on getting a medium or short bob, you may want to get the curls relaxed or settle for a longer haircut in order to avoid your hair puffing out in all directions.
