How to Cook Waltham Butternut Squash
- 1). Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.
- 2). Scrub away dirt and debris from the squash under cool running water with a vegetable scrubber.
- 3). Peel the squash with a knife or vegetable peeler.
- 4). Cut away the stem and slice the squash in half vertically. Scrape away the fibers and seeds with a spoon.
- 5). Place the squash halves onto a baking sheet and brush them with butter. Season to taste with cinnamon, sugar and other desired seasonings.
- 6). Set the baking sheet into the oven and bake the squash for 40 to 45 minutes.
