How to Change Media Center Volume Control

    • 1). Launch Windows Media Center by clicking the Media Center icon located to the right of the Start menu on the Windows Vista or Windows 7 task bar, or by selecting "Start > All Programs > Windows Media Center." Media Center includes three clickable graphics-based volume controls located near the bottom right corner of the Media Center screen; a speaker with soundwaves icon, a minus sign and a plus sign.

    • 2). Increase the Media Center volume by clicking the plus arrow graphic or tapping the “F10” key until you reach the volume level you want.

    • 3). Decrease the Media Center volume by clicking the minus sign graphic or tapping the “F9” key until the volume reaches a comfortable listening level.

    • 4). Mute the Media Center audio by clicking the speaker and soundwave icon or pressing “F8.” Restore audio by clicking the speaker icon or pressing "F8" a second time.
