Free Instructions on How to Make Woven Bracelets
- 1). Choose your woven bracelet medium such as embroidery floss, yarn or cording and select five different complementary colors. You can also opt to use a single color as well as two colors and interchange the placement prior to weaving.
- 2). Cut five yarns 27 inches in length with your scissors. Place the colors in your desired order prior to weaving. For example, if you are using pink, white and blue yarns, you can place pink as the first strand, white as the second strand, blue as the third, white as the fourth and complete the bracelet with pink.
- 3). Knot one end of your five strands. Make sure the strands can be spread apart for weaving. You can wrap a piece of tape or set the knotted strands on a clipboard while weaving.
- 4). Wrap the first strand around the second strand twice. It will appear as if you have a double knot around the strand. Take the same strand and wrap it twice around the third strand. Continue the same process by wrapping the fourth and fifth strand individually. The strand position will begin to shift during the weaving process. For example, the first strand will now be in the fifth strand position.
- 5). Take the first strand, which was originally the second strand and wrap it twice around the second. You will repeat Step 4 until the strand is weaved. It is important to weave in the same direction. For example, if you started weaving from left to right, you will weave all subsequent strands from left to right.
- 6). Repeat the weaving process with each strand until you reach the end of your yarns. Knot the end. You can leave the excess yarns for a fringe-like finish or trim with your scissors.
- 7). Open one knot slightly and insert the other end. Tighten the bracelet around your wrist to close.
