How to Use an Epson 9400 When the Ink Runs Out
- 1). Turn on your Epson CX9400 printer.
- 2). Look at the display to determine which ink cartridge(s) requires replacement. Push the "OK" button.
- 3). Lift up the scanner unit. Grip the top edge of the cartridge cover near the back of the printer and pull the cover up to flip it open.
- 4). Press your finger against the tab at the back of the first cartridge that you need to replace to unlock the cartridge. Pull the cartridge from its slot and set it aside for disposal.
- 5). Shake the package containing your new ink cartridge. Remove the cartridge from the packaging. Lift and remove the yellow tape from the cartridge.
- 6). Place the new cartridge into the empty slot--pushing down on the cartridge top until you feel it lock into the slot with a click.
- 7). Repeat the replacement process with any additional cartridges as needed. When finished, flip the cover over the cartridges. Push down on it until you feel it lock into place.
- 8). Lower the scanner carefully into its original position. Push the "OK" button and wait approximately two minutes for the printer to complete the ink cartridge replacement process by charging the ink in the cartridges. Begin printing when the process ends.
