How to Not Act Foolish in Front of a Girl
- 1). Be yourself. Maybe your entire foolish persona is an act you put on to hide your nerves or to put yourself in the spotlight. Ditch the silly act and let your true personality shine by being the only you you really know how to be. Don't let your foolish behavior turn her off where she doesn't have the patience to ask you anything about yourself and wouldn't consider hanging out with you. Channel the cool guy you are when you're doing something you're most comfortable like playing music or working on a project.
- 2). Breathe and relax. If your nerves are out of control and you can't understand why, your anxiety is revving up your adrenaline and you're all over the place trying to keep it all together. Take a minute before you open your mouth to say a word to her and breathe deeply to try to relax. Let her be the first to build the conversation if need be so you can take the time gaining control of yourself.
- 3). Don't let your attempts to be funny be foolish. It's quite natural to act in a comedic way to lighten the situation when you're around her. If your interest in her causes you to be so intense that you decide to crack jokes, make sure you're leaning more to the side of being witty and charming instead rude, outlandish and just plain dumb.
- 4). Be nice all around the board. When you stay true to yourself and just be nice to everyone, you won't have to worry about switching hats later when it's time to approach a particular set of people. Practice getting in tune with who you really want to be and portray that attitude consistently.
- 5). Replace foolishness with confidence. If you're confident you're a good catch, show it. You can still be a nice, confident guy without coming off as a jerk. Give her good eye contact, a little physical contact like a touch on the arm and smile. Have it in your mind that you're a really cool guy to get to know and it will show in your outward appearance.
