How to Choose the Correct Shade of Dermablend
- 1). Visit a store with a makeup counter that sells Dermablend cosmetics. Use the link located in the Resources section below to locate a Dermablend store.
- 2). Use the shade selector chart, available at the Dermablend makeup counter, to locate shades close to your skin color. The shade selector chart is a piece of clear plastic that has several makeup shades on it. Hold each shade over your neck area, look into a mirror and select the two or three that are closest to your natural skin tone.
- 3). Use a clean sponge, provided at the makeup counter, to apply one shade to your neck in a 1-inch strip. Test makeup colors on the neck rather than hand, as the neck is closer to the color of your face.
- 4). Apply the other two makeup colors in 1-inch strips beside the first color.
- 5). Walk outside or stand near a window and hold a mirror up to your neck area. Natural sunlight is necessary to determine which shade matches your skin the best.
- 6). Examine the makeup shades to determine which is closest to your natural skin color. The correct shade blends into the skin and is not noticeable.
