How to Use a Transmission Flush Machine
- 1). Pour the proper type and amount of transmission fluid into a clean 5-gallon bucket.
- 2). Place the end of the transmission flush machine's inlet hose into the bucket with the transmission fluid.
- 3). Plug the flush machine into a power source, a standard 11-volt outlet will do and set the controls to fill the machine with the fluid, per the machine's specific operating instructions. This usually involves simply turning a knob or lever to "FILL."
- 4). Shut the machine off once all the fluid is inside it. Connect the two hoses on the machine to the transmission cooler lines on your vehicle using the socket set.
- 5). Start the engine of your vehicle, set the parking brake, make sure the transmission is in "PARK" and turn the machine to the flush setting.
- 6). Turn the flush machine off once all the clean fluid has emptied into the transmission and the dirty fluid has replaced it in the machine.
- 7). Disconnect the hoses from the transmission cooler lines and reconnect the cooler lines to the transmission cooler with the socket set. Turn the vehicle off.
