How to Install an EIDE Hard Drive on a SCSI Server
- 1). Install the EIDE hard drive into the SCSI server's drive housing as you would a standard SCSI drive. EIDE and SCSI hard drives use the same sizing form factor.
- 2). Connect one end of the SCSI cable to an available SCSI data port on the server's motherboard.
- 3). Connect the opposing end to the SCSI side of the EIDE/SCSI converter.
- 4). Connect the opposite side of the converter to the EIDE data port located on the rear face of the EIDE hard drive.
- 5). Connect a single four-pin Molex connector to the EIDE hard drive's power port located adjacent to the data port. The hard drive may now be used within the server as though it were a SCSI drive.
