    • 1). Insert the inlet hose from the manual automotive fluid pump into your truck's gas tank by pushing it down the filler neck.

    • 2). Place the outlet hose from the fluid pump into the large container. Make sure the container is safe for use with gasoline and large enough to handle the volume of gas and water you have in the tank. Never dispense gasoline into container not fit for fuel storage.

    • 3). Follow the fluid pump's specific owner's manual for operating instructions. Most pumps operate by manually moving the pump handle up and down to draw fluid up the inlet hose and push it out the outlet house. Continue to do this until the gas tank is completely emptied.

    • 4). Replace the fuel filter on your truck. Most fuel filters can be located by following the fuel lines forward from the tank toward the engine. The filters are usually along the frame below the seating area of the truck. If you are unfamiliar with how to replace the fuel filter on your particular truck, refer to the vehicle's specific service manual or have a professional mechanic do this.

    • 5). Fill the gas tank completely with good quality gasoline, then pour in a bottle of Sta-Bil fuel stabilizer.

    • 6). Start the truck and let it idle for 10 minutes. If the truck stalls out, start it again. The new fuel and additive will need to work its way through the fuel system. Once it does, the engine should begin to idle smoothly. If the engine will not stay running, fails to smooth out after idling for 10 minutes or puts off excessive abnormally colored smoke through the exhaust after you drive the truck, you should have the truck inspected by a professional technician.
