How to Do Quilt Sashing
- 1). Add a 1/4-inch seam allowance to both sides of the sash as well as 1/2 inch to the width.
- 2). Align the sash with the quilted square and ensure the inside of the squares face up. Pin the sash to the quilted square to prepare for sewing.
- 3). Ensure there is a 1/4-inch seam allowance between the sash and the quilted square.
- 4). Sew along the inside of the fabric, in a straight line, with the sewing machine. Keep the seams on the inside so that they don't show.
- 5). Repeat the same steps on the other side of the sash with a quilted square so that the quilted squares are connected by the middle sash.
