How to Remove an Oil Pan in a 1997 Ford F350
- 1). Pull the 1997 Ford F-350 onto the ramp lifts. Set the parking brake and leave the engine running for 10 minutes to warm the engine oil. Turn off the engine after 10 minutes.
- 2). Get underneath the engine's oil pan and position the drain pan under the engine's oil pan drain plug. Remove the metal plug on the bottom of the oil pan using the ratchet set. Let the engine oil drain into the drain pan. Replace the oil pan's drain plug to the bottom of the oil pan.
- 3). Remove the 18 metal bolts from around the edge of the oil pan using the ratchet set. Tap the sides of the oil pan with the rubber tipped hammer until the oil pan comes off of the bottom of the engine.
