    • 1). Make sure the car is turned off. Locate the jack screw on the top of the plastic housing of the headlight assembly. Remove the jack screw with the ratchet and socket.

    • 2). Pry the headlight assembly forward. You're going to have to wriggle the assembly--being cautious not to scratch the lens or the paint on the bumper--and pop out the ball sockets holding the assembly into place. Once the assembly comes free, you'll have about 5 to 6 inches of harness wire play connected to the back of the headlight assembly.

    • 3). Locate the correct bulb. The low beam is the outside bulb on the lens; the high beam is the inside beam.

    • 4). Turn the headlight a quarter of a turn counterclockwise and pull it out of the assembly.

    • 5). Release the locking clip at the bottom of the headlight and separate the headlight from the harness.

    • 6). Plug the new headlight into the harness, being cautious not to touch the glass bulb of the headlight. Oils in our skin can compromise the life span of the halogen headlights, or damage them altogether.

    • 7). Insert the bulb into the headlight assembly and turn a quarter turn clockwise to lock into place.

    • 8). Turn the lights on to make sure they're working before putting everything back together.

    • 9). Insert the headlight assembly back into the cavity lining up the ball sockets. A firm push will pop it in place.

Insert the jack screw and tighten with the ratchet and socket.
