    • 1). Wait 30 minutes if the GE refrigerator does not seem to be working, since it may be in a defrost cycle. Check the power cord and firmly connect it to a power outlet. Replace or reset the fuse or circuit breaker if necessary.

    • 2). Adjust the rollers on each refrigerator foot if the unit is rattling or vibrating excessively during operation. Each foot should touch the ground evenly.

    • 3). Close the doors when the unit is not in operation and leave them shut as much as possible if the temperature inside the refrigerator is too warm. Set the temperature control to a colder temperature and make sure the doors are shut completely each time.

    • 4). Turn up the temperature control if items are too cold or are frozen. Allow several hours for the temperature to alter within the refrigerator or freezer.

    • 5). Turn the icemaker "On" if there is power and water but no ice. Remove some of the ice cubes if the bin is too full and make sure cubes are not stuck in the chute or dispenser. Remove blocked ice cubes using a plastic utensil.

    • 6). Close or cover food items to prevent odor transferring to the ice if the ice cubes smell or taste bad. Empty out the current ice cubes and wash out the bin. Rinse and dry the bin before returning to the freezer.

    • 7). Replace the water filter if the water does not taste good, or the ice cubes are small or hollow. Replacement filters can be obtained through GE and some appliance retailers.

    • 8). Release the "Child Lock" by pressing the "Lock Control" pad for three seconds if nothing on the control display works.

    • 9). Clean the refrigerator with baking soda and water if the compartment starts to smell. Keep items closed or covered tightly. Keep an open box of baking soda in the compartment to help reduce odors.

Close the refrigerator doors if the unit starts to beep.
