How to Remove Bodyside Molding on a Grand Cherokee

    • 1). Park your Grand Cherokee on level ground in a well-lit area. Engage the parking brake. Turn the engine off.

    • 2). Locate the three panels on each side of the Grand Cherokee. The three panels form together when the doors are shut to make one panel. Begin by pulling at the rear of each panel to access the mounting clips. Use the trim panel tool around the base of the clips to help release the molding from them. Other than the clips, the panels are attached by a 3M adhesive.

    • 3). Work your way down each panel until all of the clips are removed. Pulling the panel from the adhesive is the hardest part; however, pulling hard will not damage your door.

    • 4). Use the adhesive remover and the hand towel to remove the glue residue. Apply the solvent. Let it set for a few minutes, and then begin vigorously wiping.
