How to Remove the Tire on a 230 SLK
- 1). Park on a level service, engage the emergency brake and shut off the engine. Remove the jack and lug wrench from the the storage compartment in the trunk floorboard.
- 2). Loosen the lugs by twisting them counterclockwise with the lug wrench. Do not remove them yet.
- 3). Place the jack beneath the jack points on the SLK's frame. They are located between the front and rear tires, near the wheel wells; check your owner's manual for their exact location.
- 4). Crank the handle until the jack engages the frame. Make sure the frame is securely within groove on top of the jack before cranking any more.
- 5). Crank the jack until the wheel lifts off the ground. Twist the lugs off using the lug wrench. Set them aside.
- 6). Grasp the wheel with your hands in the 3 and 9 o'clock positions. Pull the tire away from the car.
