How to Remove the Door Panels on a 2000 Ford F150
- 1). Remove the upper plastic trim by prying it off the door frame with the trim tool. Use care not to crack the trim by prying too hard. Behind the trim is a Philips screw. Remove that screw with the Philips screwdriver. You can purchase a trim tool from most auto parts or tool retailers for less than $20.
- 2). Pry the inner door handle bezel loose with the trim tool and set the bezel aside. This will expose the second screw, which you also need to remove using the Philips screwdriver.
- 3). Remove the window switch bezel using the trim tool to gently pry it up and off the door panel. Disconnect the window switch wiring harness from the back of the switch by hand. Set the bezel aside.
- 4). Push in and upward on the door panel until it comes free of the door. Now gently lift it upward far enough to allow you to disconnect the wiring for the courtesy light in the lower corner by hand. Set the door panel aside with the rest of the trim, in a place where it won't get damaged or dirty during the rest of whatever repair you are undertaking.
- 5). Repeat steps one through four on the opposite door.
