How Teachers Can Start a Website Without Even Having a Website

I had a conversation with a colleague of mine today about websites.
She has a great idea for a website, but hasn't started because she hasn't found the perfect name for the blog.
I thought that maybe there were others out there who were also hesitating because of this.
Finding the perfect domain name is a daunting task.
You have to find a name that not only encapsulates the purpose of your topic, but is also easy to remember and flows off the tongue.
Often, once you find that perfect name, you also find that it's already taken, and you have to go back and start over again.
It can get frustrating.
What I do when I'm looking for a name for a site is first write down a list of adjectives that describe the purpose of my proposed site.
Who is it for? How will it benefit the visitors? What service will it provide? These are all questions that I have to answer before choosing the name.
When I was thinking about this site, I wanted to first of all, specify my audience - teachers.
Then I wanted to include the benefits of my site - more money.
Most marketers will tell you that when you offer a product, you have to make sure that the product meets some specific need if it is going to sell.
I figured there were other teachers out there like me who were being affected by the bad economy, and since I was already learning about Internet marketing, I thought it would be good to share what I was learning with other teachers.
The name for my site didn't sound perfect at first, so I modified the name to make it roll of the tongue a little better.
But Sam, what do I do if I can't think of the perfect name? I'm glad you asked.
This is what I told my colleague.
Start writing your posts in a Word document, even if nobody sees it but you.
Write everyday as if you are posting it online.
Start getting you expertise written down somewhere until that flash of brilliance hits you with the perfect domain name.
You're going to find that the more you write about the topic, the more ideas for your site name will come, and when the perfect name finally does arrive, you'll have pre-made content already waiting for posting.
You can do this.
Start now.
