How to Erase & Synchronize Music on Your iPod

    • 1). Connect your iPod to iTunes by plugging your iPod into your computer with the iPod's USB cable. iTunes will likely automatically open, unless you have changed the settings. Open iTunes if it doesn't load.

    • 2). Select "Erase and Sync" if that dialogue window appears. This will only appear if you have connected your iPod to a new computer. If it doesn't appear, proceed to the next step.

    • 3). Click on your iPod's name in the left pane of the iTunes window. Notice the new tabs that appear.

    • 4). Click the "Music" tab, then click the box next to "Sync Music."

    • 5). Select "Apply." Your music library will automatically sync to your iTunes music library as it deletes and adds songs accordingly. Do not disconnect your iPod during this process.
