We all fawn over celebrity hairstyles but many of us find it difficult to get similar results when we attempt the styles at home. Nick Penna, Creative Director of Boston-based Be Styled, a blowdry lounge, is sharing his favorite products for obtaining celeb-status looks on your own.

With over 15 years of experience as a celebrity hairstylist, Nick is co-owner of SalonCapri and Be Styled. Nick is also a sought after celeb stylist at New York fashion shows for designers such as Rodarte, Cynthia Rowley, Jason Wu and Betsy Johnson.

About Nick Penna

Despite being born into one of Boston’s royal families of hair, Nick Penna Jr. never had any intention of following in his parents’ footsteps. However, Nick’s inherent skills, eye for style and natural talent eventually led him to pursue a career in hair, where success quickly followed. In 1995, Nick’s career skyrocketed when, at a young age, he received his first nationally-recognized award from Vidal Sassoon for “Excellence in New Design.” In 2000, he was once again recognized for his impressive styling skills with the Guillaume Award in Berlin, Germany. Nick made the COUP Boston 2013 list of Boston-area “Visionaries.”

Through the years, Nick has expanded the salon’s team of top stylists and remains directly responsible for the education of his staff, working closely with beauty partners such as L’Oreal Professionnel, who chose SalonCapri to be only one of less than 15 salons in the country to house the L’Oreal Professionnel Haircolor Center on premise.

In 2013, Nick became Founding Partner and Creative Director for Be Styled, Nick’s vision of what a blowdry bar concept should be: a place where glamour and convenience meet to provide every client with the “star treatment” experience of a wash and custom hair style.More »
