How to Replace the Brake Pads on a KTM 65SX

    • 1). Place the motorcycle lift under the engine frame. Raise the lift until both wheels are off the ground. Allow the brake rotor to completely cool before you proceed.

    • 2). Remove the two bolts that secure the front caliper to the rotor, using the corresponding size Allen wrench. Pull the caliper off the rotor and pull the brake pads from the inside of the caliper.

    • 3). Force the 1/2-inch piston back into the caliper, using the handle of the screwdriver. Apply a small amount of brake pad lubrication to each slot on the caliper that the pads slide into.

    • 4). Slide the new KTM brake pads into the corresponding slots on the brake caliper. Push down on the brake pads until you hear the pads snap into place.

    • 5). Place the caliper onto the the front rotor. Place the bolts into the mounting holes. Tighten the bolts, using the corresponding size Allen wrench. Repeat these steps for the rear brake pads.
