    • 1). Determine what type of sound card you have. Click "Start," "Control Panel," and double click "Administrative Tools," then "Computer Management." Click "Device Manager," and double click on "Sound, Video and Game Controllers." Your sound card will be listed there.

    • 2). Determine your operating system version. Click "Start," right click on "My computer," and select properties to check the version.

    • 3). Search the website of your computer or audio card's manufacturer to download the appropriate audio drivers. Most sound cards have several different drivers available for a given operating system, so there is not necessarily one specific driver that you need. As long as the diver is designed for your card and operating system, it should function properly. Hardware manufacturers usually have helpful driver download support tools which assist you with searching for the appropriate drivers for your system.
