How to Disable Firefox 3 Rich Address Bar
- 1). Launch your Firefox Web browser.
- 2). Click the "Tools" menu and select the "Add-ons" title in the drop-down list. Click the "Get Add-ons" button in the dialog window that appears.
- 3). Type "old location bar" in the window's text field and press your keyboard's "Return" or "Enter" key. This brings up the "Old Location Bar" add-on, which brings back the older Firefox version address bar that displays just the URL address and website icon.
- 4). Click the "Add to Firefox" button in the dialog window and click the "Install Now" button in the window that displays. Follow the prompts to restart your Firefox browser.
- 5). Click the "Old Location Bar" title in the "Add-ons" dialog window that automatically appears and click the "Preferences" button. Follow the instructions in the window that displays to customize what your address bar contains. If you do nothing, your address bar disables the Firefox 3 rich address bar and simply shows the Web addresses with any icons.
