How to Replace Corolla Engine Mount Driver Side
- 1). Place your wooden blocks on top of the jack, then push the jack under the Corolla to a point near the bad motor mount.
- 2). Locate a place near the bad motor mount as a jacking point. The oil pan can be used if absolutely necessary, but the engine block or transmission housing would be better.
- 3). Pump the jack slightly, but only enough to make firm contact with the engine.
- 4). Use your 11/16-inch wrench to loosen the motor mount nut, turning counterclockwise. This is a common size nut for Corollas, but there is no guarantee it will work for every model year. If the 11/16-inch wrench doesn't fit properly, find the wrench that does.
- 5). Remove the nut from the bolt and slowly begin to jack up the engine until the bolt clears the mounting hole. There is no need to jack it up any farther, as this may cause stress on the other motor mounts.
- 6). Place the old motor mount next to the new one and transfer any flashings or heat shields over from the old to the new.
- 7). Align the new motor mount in the exact place where the old one was, and thread the new bolt into the mounting hole.
- 8). Lower the engine down on top of the new motor mount. Screw on the new nut to secure the mount, tighten firmly and remove the jack from beneath the car.
