    • 1). Lay the new carpet flat on the ground in direct sunlight to remove any creases in the fabric.

    • 2). Remove the front seats from your vehicle by loosening the four bolts holding each, using a ratchet and socket. With power seats you will need to disconnect the wire that plugs into the seat. Pull the seats out of the car once the bolts are removed.

    • 3). Remove the rear seat from the vehicle. This varies on some models, but generally you simply pull the release tab under the front of the seat, lift up and pull the cushion straight out. You can leave the vertical cushion in the vehicle.

    • 4). Remove the step panels in the door jams by loosening the screws holding them down and pulling up on the panels until the clips release.

    • 5). Remove the kick panels by loosening the bolts with a screwdriver. The kick panels are the small panels near the foot of the driver and passenger.

    • 6). Remove the center console. Most vehicles will have a few screws at the bottom and two or three bolts inside the console. Use a ratchet, socket and screwdriver to remove them and pull out the console.

    • 7). Remove the shift bezel, the plastic around the shifter. Most are held on by the center console, so it should easily pull away from the vehicle. If not, look for a few bolts holding it to the floor boards.

    • 8). Begin pulling the carpet away from the vehicle. Make certain to leave the padding behind, unless you would also like it replaced. Start by pulling the carpet from the far edges and work your way to the center. You may need to release a few pieces of trim at the bottom by pulling until the clips release.

    • 9). Take the carpet from the vehicle and lay it out to match it up with the pre-cut design you purchased.

Lay the new carpet in the vehicle starting by putting it over the shifter. Carefully flatten out the carpet by hand until it is out to all of the interior edges. Make sure the bolt holes for the seats match up. Press the pieces of trim you had to pull out so they clip in place holding the carpet.

Put back the kick panels using a screwdriver to screw them in.

    • 12

Put the shifter bezel back in place and tighten down the bolts, if applicable.

    • 13

Place the center console in position. Tighten the bolts inside the console first, then tighten the screws on the outside.

    • 14

Put the rear cushion back by pushing the back in first, then pushing down on the front until it clicks into place.

    • 15

Re-install the seats, reconnecting any wires and bolts.

    • 16

Put the door step panels in the door jam. Push them in until they click and screw down using a screwdriver.

Inspect the carpet carefully looking for any areas that are uneven or not lined up.
