On the Charts - Billboards Country Singles and Albums
Keith Urban takes over the top spot this week with "Days Go By," which moves up 2 spots from last week. Tim McGraw's "Live Like You Were Dying" remains at No. 2. Terri Clark's "Girls Lie Too" drops 2 spots from the top spot last week to No. 3. At No. 4 is Gretchen Wilson with "Here for the Party," which moves up three spots from No. 7 last week. Remaining at No. 5 is Andy Griggs with "She Thinks She Needs Me." Keith's song has a bullet, as does Gretchen's and Andy's.
I think Keith may hold on for one more week, and then "Here for the Party" will move up to No. 1. It will more than likely move up to at least No. 3 next week. I hope Andy's song continues moving up as well. I really like that song.
The fastest rising song this week is Travis Tritt and John Mellancamp's duet called "What Say You." The song moves up an incredible 16 spaces this week from No. 50 to No. 34 in its second week on the chart. Josh Gracin's second single "Nothin' to Lose" debuted last week at No. 60, and moves up this week to No. 51. Kenny Chesney's "The Woman With You" moves up seven spots from No. 34 to No. 27. Los Lonely Boys song "Heaven" also moves up seven spots from No. 53 to No. 46. New songs this week come from Shania Twain, dueting with Billy Currington on "Party For Two," debuting at No. 39. Brad Paisley releases the title track, "Mud on the Tires" from his latest album. It debuts at No. 54.
Tim McGraw remains at the No. 1 spot on the album charts with Live Like You Were Dying. At No.
2 is Gretchen Wilson's Here For The Party, which moves up two spots from last week. At No. 3 is Big & Rich with Horse of a Different Color, dropping one spot from last week. Jimmy Buffett's License to Chill also drops one spot to No. 4, and coming in at No. 5, the same as last week, is Brad Paisley's Mud on the Tires.
New albums this week come from The Carter Family Tribute, The Unbroken Circle: The Musical Heritage Of The Carter Family debuting at No. 65, and Junior Brown's Down Home Chrome, debuting at No. 73.
NOTE: All chart rankings are based on the song or album's position on the Billboard Hot Country Singles Chart or Billboard Country Albums Chart for September 18, 2004.
