    Removing the Door Panel

    • 1). Use your fingers to unscrew the door lock knob located along the top edge of the door panel inside of the car.

    • 2). Remove the plastic trim cover from the inner door handle by sliding a flat head screwdriver into the seam and gently prying it outwards. Removing this cover will expose the wires that control your power windows, if the car is so equipped, as well as the screws that attach the door handle to the door itself. Unplug the wires to the power window controls, if applicable, by squeezing the retaining tabs found on the wiring harness. Remove the screws with a Phillips head screwdriver.

    • 3). Turn the window regulator handle to the 9 o'clock position on models without power windows. Slide the spacer, found at the 3 o'clock position, directly away from the handle with a small flat head screwdriver. Remove the handle and spacer. Keep the handle nearby in case you need to reposition the window.

    • 4). Remove the speaker grille by gently sliding the flat head screwdriver under the edge of the grille and carefully prying it outward. Remove the screws holding the speaker in place and pull the speaker from the door. Unplug the wires from the back of the speaker when accessible.

    • 5). Remove the screws along the bottom edge of the door panel.

    • 6). Slide the long flat head screwdriver between the door panel and the door and gently pry the door panel away from the retaining clips. Once all retaining clips have released, slowly remove the door panel by pulling it out from the bottom, then lifting it up and forward to maneuver it around the interior door latch. Doing this will expose a plastic sheathing that serves as a simple barrier between the door cavity and the door panel itself. If your door has been worked on previously, it is possible that this sheathing may not be present.

    Removing the Glass

    • 1). Peel off the plastic seal, if present.

    • 2). Position the glass, by either raising or lowering it, as necessary, until the two nuts that hold the window clamps closed are lined up with the corresponding openings on the metal door panel. Use the socket to loosen the nuts.

    • 3). Tape the window in place and lower the window regulator.

    • 4). Tilt the rear end of the glass up and carefully lift it out of the door.
