Sd Cards For Writers

Alternatively you might have seen yourself shacked up in a small coffee shop watching the world go by as inspiration for what you right, or hurtling along the tracks on a train as your write your story. This is for the majority of writers sadly just a pipe dream and many find themselves not out in the world soaking up the very inspiration that will fuel their work, but instead boarded up in their room day after day, often not even getting up to change out of their bed clothes. This is a very unfortunate reality, but it need not necessarily be the case and if you have the right technology, it's actually more possible than it's ever been to live the life of the travelling writer.

Most writers today need a computer in order to work so that they can submit their work and so that they can get research etc. To most, any work written by hand or on a typewriter would only have to be typed up anyway or it would have no purpose and the writer would not be able to do anything with it. In digital form a document or novel can be published as a novel, or it can be put on a website - on paper it can only be read as it is.

Fortunately for those travelling writers there are many ways to write digitally on the go. For example a netbook is a tiny computer that can be as small as 7 inches and that can be as light as a kilogram. These have small keyboards perfect for touch typing while taking up no space, and they can fit easily into a backpack or even a large fanny pack and can rest nicely on your lap even in an enclosed space while you type. Similarly some smart phones even will let you type on the go, and phones such as the Blackberry devices come with an in-built keyboard that allows you to again touch type while you're on the move.

What you then need is a memory card such as a 64GB SD. This will allow you to type while you're on the move and to transfer documents quickly from device to another. With a 64GB SD you will literally never run out of storage space as text files are highly small and will never add up to that kind of size. You can even this way dock at a computer that's not your own in a cyber caf or library. This way you can make use of things you encounter as you travel and can find an internet connection whenever you might need one.

Finally with a 64GB SD card a writer can also back up the work they do. This is incredibly important for any writer in order to prevent them from having to re-write all of their work as a result of losing it all and is a very important measure that all writers should take as well as anyone who works with vast amounts of data (all businesses then really).
