A reader recently emailed, mentioning that she has become overrun with outgrown baby clothes from her twins. With limited time on her hands, she asked me for a quick list of things she can do with her used baby clothes. I told her that after cleaning out her twin's closet, throwing out or recycling any baby clothes that have been involved in a recall, and getting it all organized, there were six things she could do with her used baby clothes. Super simple to throw together and a good excuse to see your ADULT friends. You won't make any money off a swap, but you'll be able to get rid of outgrown baby clothes and score some new clothes for your own little one.More »

2. Take Them to the Baby Consignment Shop

3. Use an Online Baby Clothes Swapping Service

Baby clothes swapping online is becoming quite popular and it's really the best of both consigning (a larger selection of new-to-you baby clothes) and swapping (little to no financial investment).More »

4. Sell the Baby Clothes on Your Own

Out of all the things you can do with outgrown baby clothes, selling them yourself takes the most time and energy, but often gives you the biggest return.

5. Store the Baby Clothes for Other Children

Whether you plan on having another baby or your sister-in-law is pregnant, you may decide to just store the baby clothes you have in the event that a friend or family member can use them.

6. Give Them Away

There are a variety of organizations that accept donated baby clothes, from churches and women's shelters to thrift stores; you might also choose to list them on Freecycle.
